A Cooperation Protocol has been signed between the Portuguese Navy and UNINOVA, to pursue joint RTD activities.
On the 19th of November of 2002, Vice-Admiral Henrique Alexandre Machado da Silva da Fonseca, on behalf of the Portuguese Navy and Professor Adolfo Steiger Garção and Dr. Luís Filipe Gaspar on behalf of UNINOVA have signed a cooperation protocol that will allow both institutions to pursue joint Research and Technological Development activities in the fields of:
- Information and Communication Technologies,
- Digital Economy,
- Software Engineering and
- Electronics.
The first of these projects is currently being prepared, involving a team from the DITIC of the Navy and a team of UNINOVA coordinated by Pedro A. C. Sousa and João Paulo Pimentão.
This project is related to developments within the "SINGRAR - Integrated System for the Management of Maintenance Priorities and Resource Allocation", being developed to equip the ships of the Portuguese Navy.
