The membership agreement between UNINOVA and the management board of Agentcities.NET was signed on 16 of october of 2002
Agentcities is a global, collaborative effort to construct an open network of on-line systems hosting diverse agent based services.
Agentcities.NET is a European Commission funded 5th Framework IST project that started on the 1st of November, 2001.
Agentcities.NET is a Take Up Action, TRIAL/TESTBED support activity, helping create an open dynamic service environment based on Agent technology and make it accessible to potential users. The project acts a support to European / worldwide research and industry groups wishing to participate in the development of an open, worldwide interoperable agent network (Agentcities). The project's objectives are to:
- Encourage widespread extension of the open agent testbed created by the Agentcities.RTD and other projects around the world.
- Enable technology transfer by bringing together key players from related industries (from eCommerce firms to Internet tool makers, systems Integration firms and hosting firms - potential users of the technology) with researchers and developers working on the testbed infrastructure and services.
